Carine Lucchese Published on Tuesday, 31 January 2012 17:36
Carine Lucchese is a highly talented French photographer who has been living in London for the last 16 years. Her interest in photography stemmed from assisting a portrait photographer 5 years ago and the rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve found it quite hard to choose images from Carine’s profile to use here, so to start with I’ve used her profile photo. I have no idea what the significance of 100 is, but I like it. Using so much gold, for some, could be tacky and just a bit over the top, yet here it’s artistic and compliments the model’s outfit well – and if anyone would like to offer me a gold cake you know where to email!
The gold is toned down slightly here but I absolutely love the use of reflection in the balloon and how the model’s skin appears slightly more golden in tone than in the last image. It’s a lovely effect and looks as if it’s come from a high fashion editorial or perhaps, even a high end fashion designer’s marketing campaign.
Moving on from the gold studio shots there are some spectacular outdoor photos that make great use of the natural sunlight:
The vibrant colours against the blue sky, along with the lens flare, are so different from the studio photos you could be forgiven for thinking a different photographer took them, but I think this is a sign of a person who has a natural eye for great composition.
The juxtaposition of the magenta against the grey buildings behind the model in the above image is amazing. The angle of the sunlight has caught her just right and she looks as if she is glowing. Whoever designed the clothes ought to be rubbing their hands with glee – they look fabulous!

I don’t know about you, but I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on this one.
