Francesco La Porta is a music, fashion and portraiture photographer originating from Venice, who moved to London where he found the space to express himself in the form of photography.
His street style images are some of my favourites and usually the images that I find most intriguing. They can often be the most natural style of images as it is capturing ordinary people from all walks of life in their everyday surroundings. Images like this in my eyes add a deeper meaning to the photograph and are just as beautiful and artistic as high-fashion editorial images.
These two images I find very interesting. Franceso has captured them in such a clever way that it looks like they were captured in the punk era of the 1980’s. They are very cultural and British and remind me of the kind of images that wouldn’t go a miss in a Vivienne Westwood clothing shoot or in editorial piece for the famous fashion, street style and youth culture magazine i.D.
This image was taken on location at London Fashion week and the focus is purely on this individual, in his familiar surroundings with natural lighting and without the help from a screened background. The fact that the background is also distorted draws you towards and helps you to purely focus on the subject.
Francesco says that his passion in photography has always been deep-rooted within his personality as his Grandfather also had a love for taking photographs. This passion is definitely showcased in his work. This is especially proven in this photograph. The vibe that you get from this picture is romance and it is captured magically. The surroundings have been captured spectacularly but at the same time you still focus on the couple in the centre of the image. It is a beautiful and artistic image and it is clear to see that Francesco has a passion for photography.
