The Milan Fashion Week, Men’s collections
The Milan Fashion Week has been showcasing Men’s collections for Spring/Summer 2013, key trends are metallics, vibrant colours – including spearmint green, and a mixture of smart tailoring and urban fits. Tailored shorts to the knees concentrating on calves rather than thighs are also key for next summer. Casual styles include the Californian surfer look as well as early skate and graffiti artist inspired designs. Also keep an eye out for the socks and sandals trend (yes, socks and sandals are going to be IN gents...) hitting a beach near you in Summer 2013.
The BBC Radio One Hackney weekend
The BBC Radio One Hackney weekend was a smash on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June, artists such as The Vaccines, Jack White, Rita Ora, Nero, Swedish House Mafia, Pete Tong, David Guetta, Labrinth, Nas, Wretch 32, Azealia Banks performed along with music giants, Kasabian, Rihanna, Florence and the Machine, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Example, Jessie J, Plan B, Professor Green as well as the headline act Jay Z who brought Kanye West onstage to perform hits from their massive album Watch the Throne as well as performing solo hits. Fans could listen on BBC Radio One as well as watching select acts on BBC3 during the channel’s broadcasting times, it was a spectacular show and the audience has had nothing but praise for the musicians who performed. Repeat sets are also being broadcast on Radio One shows as well as being available on the iPlayer online or ‘red button’ from BBC TV channels.
Converse launch ‘Represent’
Music and fashion come together beautifully as Converse launch a new initiative – ‘Represent’ – which will involve showcasing 45 different music artists from across the globe for 9 nights at London’s legendary 100 Club .
Beginning on 30 July Represent will include performances from a variety of musicians including Plan B, Paul Weller, Santigold and SBTRKT

G-Shock and Dazed bring us The Casio G-Shock 30th Anniversary Awards
G-Shock and Dazed are combining forces to bring you the Casio G-Shock 30th Anniversary Awards, highlighting the best emerging talent in music, fashion, art and sport.
A winner for each category, from shortlists nominated by Dazed & Confused, will be selected by a panel of industry expert. A celebrity bash, in October, will then see winners honoured, and awarded their prizes: £3,000 worth of funding from Casio G-Shock to help them continue in their chosen field.
