I have over 20yrs working within the fashion industry for various high street retailers, brands, consultancies and suppliers which has given me a good understanding of the market place and a great grounding to running my own consultancy.
After setting up as a freelancer 8 years ago and working with a few start up brands, I realised that there was a gap in the market for a full service offering. Clients would come to me with an idea for a brand but wouldn’t know how to go about sourcing fabrics, finding manufacturers and how to get their product to fruition. As well as designing for the clients I started offering the full package from design to delivery.
Over the last 4 years I have worked with many start ups that have gone onto be really successful and are now thriving
As part of this I now offer a consultancy service whereby I project manage or mentor the client on how to deal with factories, where the best place to go for souring your fabrics, cost effectiveness and work alongside them so they can get involved with the manufacturing process and get first hand experience on how to develop their brand.

The Many Sides
- How can our Members benefit from working with you?
Having worked in the industry for many years I can offer my experience in all areas from designing, working on range planning, putting together tech packs which are a vital part of the costing process. Without these it is very difficult to get any ideas of costing for your garment. Which in turn makes it difficult to work to a budget or finalise a business plan.
I have worked across mens, womens and childrenswear within all product areas so can help from a design and construction point of view.
I also have a great network of contacts that I have built up over the years from fabric suppliers, to manufacturers in the UK and overseas as well as mentoring and project managing.
- Do you have a unique expertise with in your industry?
My greatest asset would be my knowledge and what I have learnt along the way on what not and what to do which is invaluable and I am very happy to pass that information on.
- That's the best piece of advice you have for our Members?
Don’t give up!!! There can be many knockbacks along the way. Everybody wants something for nothing! Make sure that you document everything, so if a problem does occur you have a record of everything. If a supplier makes a mistake on production then you will need to prove that you gave them the correct info. The same with designing, make sure you have documentation that the client wanted you to make certain changes or amend a size chart etc.
On a plus side, I have met and worked with some great, creative people. All with a creative vision and ambition to make their dream a reality. It;s great to be a part of bringing it to life
