Where does this role fit within Ted's Team?
Working as a designer in the accessories team and reporting to the Senior Designer. We are looking for a unique individual who is motivated by creative thinking and big ideas to drive the development of our accessories collection.
Work closely with the team to create successful fashion forward, quirky and innovative collection within given deadlines, whilst being aware of current trends and brands DNA.
Attend exhibitions, store event, comp shops looking for new opportunities and ideas keeping the direction fresh.
Build strong relationships within the team in order to help utilise existing talent around you.
Liaise with other departments in order to share ideas and maximise the potential.
Manage styles from concept to production stage.
Proactive, selfmotivated individual with the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
Design and developing four collections a year to cover our wholesale and retail business in domestic and international markets.
Research for inspiration for each season through a variety of sources such as inspiration trips abroad, online brands, online blogs, WGSN. Seeing trim suppliers, visiting accessory suppliers, leather and trim fairs, magazines or trend books, noticing trends or details on clothing when out and about and taking in feedback from stores regarding possible reasons for success and failure on preceding looks.
Creating mood boards relevant to the season and product area, to illustrate direction and inspiration.
Generating sketches and bag specs, lab dip and material approval.
Presenting first prototype samples to other members of the business to receive early feedback regarding the direction of the collection.
Working closely with the buyer, following the range plan each season and developing each style throughout the whole design process to ensure we achieve a relevant, commercial and innovative collection within the price parameters each season.
Working closely with production and the garment tech team to ensure quality, trims etc are all perfect before proceeding to SMS or bulk.
Work closely with the Creative Manager to produce commercial innovative bag designs.
Tools of the Trade…
Computer literate with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator PLM System ,training provided.
Time Management Skills.
Proven experience in design and product development.
Creative yet commercial eye and have good attention to detail.
Passion for Fashion.
A genuine interest and commitment in working for the brand.
