I'm inspired by artists and photographers alike who retain a minimalist element within their work. I have specialised in womenswear within fashion, investigating innovative textiles including print and fabric manipulation.
My main interest lies in pattern cutting creating feminine, delicate tailoring with an edge of rawness.
Alexandra Nicholson completed her internship with McQ Alexander McQueen from June 2010 – September 2010
under the supervision of Jane Hayward (WRTW Designer) & Nora Deubel (WRTW Pattern Cutter).
During that period she assisted the WRTW team in research for design developement, studio duties, such as
organization and presentation, and general tasks for the day to day running of the studio.
Alexandra is very responsible and volunteers to jump in and help out with any task. She is well organised,
creative, hard working, enthusiastic and calmly handles stress associated with busy times in the office.
She worked particulary closely with Nora Deubel, involving sewing toiles, independently developing samples for
design details, and supporting the pattern developement.
During the internship Alexandra refined her sewing and pattern cutting skills, and was eager to learn and apply
